Lost But Not Found

I chased you from surface of the moon
to the shallow end of the ocean
deep into the trees
I am all alone standing next to your absence

Lost but not found

like a tree that falls alone in the forest
I fell in love and I did not
make a sound which echoed off your absence

Lost but not found

unable to find my way back from the edge
I took a step forward and cold not find the fork in the road
unable to make a decision
to many possibilities not enough chances

Lost but not found

I took on step back and tripped over a
dead root for the tree of life
cut down leaving only a stump
exposing the rings of age
three light years around one star

Lost but not found

I lay there unable to move from you absence
I am frozen in time tranquilized by your
presence away from me

Lost but not found

three light years away
two light years away
one light year away
from the moon to the sun
from the sun to a shooting star
across the sky
I make a wish knowing that your existence
dictates my heart beats
my heart beat play the back beats
to your reflection and supply the base lines
to the musical montage
that plays the background music of your soul

Lost but not found
